Equipment

One of the most imperative steps is choosing the right equipment to produce a high quality music video. As our prop manager, Mahum compiled the list of props we would require and was tasked with collecting them, keeping them safe and bringing them to the shoot.

She deemed this to be the equipment we would need for the shoot:

We will be using a Sony HX300 camera for our shoot. An SD card, charger and back up batteries will be required. We'll be using the data cable to transfer the clips from the camera to the laptop. A tripod will also be used to ensure we capture stable shots. The camera and its accessories belong to Mahnoor, while we will be borrowing the tripod from a friend.

For a few shots we will be using backdrops to add layers of symbolic meaning to our music video. We will also be using reflectors and lights to achieve the lighting we want for our music video. These will be acquired by Mahum except for the backdrops which I will be purchasing.

Representation in Indie Pop Music Videos

Since Indie as an umbrella genre provides artists with full creative liberty we see that Indie Pop music videos represent people from all walks of life. It is not limited to any one social group and will often represent multiple social groups in the same video. A good example of this is George Ezra's 'Budapest' music video. Age Group If there is one social group that Indie Pop represents more than others, it's young adults since the majority of the artists in this genre belong to that age group. Artists who emerge in the Indie Pop scene, usually do so when they're rather young so even if they make music for a long time it still falls withing that age group. This isn't to say that adults do not partake in the making of Indie Pop music videos or that children are not represented. Gender Indie pop is inclusive of all genders and is one of the genres where equal participation of males and females can be observed. Gender bending is not uncommon.

Softwares

For our video we will be using different softwares: For the editing of our video we will be using Adobe Premiere Pro. It is one of the best editing soft wares. This was a natural choice since Mahnoor, our editor is already well acquainted with the software and due to its easy availability (she already has it on her laptop). For the Digipack design and animated drawings we will be using Photoshop. This is the software we used for our Magazine task and are therefore familiar and comfortable with it. All of us having ample skills on the software will also allow us to divide certain tasks and get them done more efficiently. We decided to make the website using Wix.com which is an online free website builder tool, particularly for the range of options it offers us such as playable tracks that would be handy when building a website for an artist.
